First of the season

The weather is getting noticeably cooler now, time to dust off the knitting needles and get cracking on something warm and wooly ! Here it is – my very first knit of Winter 2014 – Bugs’s rainbow cardigan !

I started working on this a month ago, back when it was hot and balmy. I am generally a slow knitter and I only get little bits of time here and there to knit. So planning ahead and starting early is pretty crucial!

If this cardigan looks familiar, it’s a pattern that I’ve used quite a few times -Kelly Herdrich’s In Threes pattern!

This is the 2014 version made in Noro Silk Garden (one of my favourite yarns)…

And for a trip down memory lane, this is Sprout , my 2012 charity knit made using Bendigo Woollen Mills cotton yarn in Avocado…

And Sweet Berry Love, a 2012 version of the pattern that I knitted for Bugs using Rowan Colourscape chunky yarn! See how tiny she was then! Hard to believe that this same cardigan is now too small for her now!

Well there’s still quite a bit of room in the 2014 version for Bugs to grow into…
